"Hearing International, with its partner organizations and National Committees, seeks to intervene against causes of hearing loss which affect over 200 million people in the world in the conviction that effective action could, over the next ten years, reduce by at least one third the major causes of avoidable deafness and hearing impairment, namely, otitis media, anti-infectious agents affecting the inner ear, congenital and hereditary deafness, noise induced hearing loss and ototoxic deafness and inner ear infections.
Hearing International will give priority to comprehensive action to prevent and manage hearing impairment and deafness within national and international programs of health and development worldwide."
